Who is Ashoka?
Ashoka and the nine unknown
is a mystery although Ashoka was an Indian ruler of the Maurya empire who feint
almost all of the Indian subcontinent from c. 268 to 232 BCE. One of India's
greatest ruler, Ashoka reign over a empire that extended from the Hindu Kush
mountain in Afghanistan to the recent state of Bangladesh into the east. It
enclosed the intact Indian subcontinent apart from parts of modern-day Tamil
Nadu and Kerala. The empire capital was Pataliputra (in Magadha, current
Bihar), with regional capitals at Taxila and Ujjain.
